How to Add or Select a Customer in the Billing/New Sale Screen

Before you start billing in Zylu, you need to select or add the customer. This step is important because it helps Zylu apply any wallet balance, cashback, membership, or package benefits automatically.

You can search for an existing customer or add a new one. Everything happens inside the billing screen.

How to Add or Select a Customer?

Searching for an Existing Customer

Customer SearchSearch for a customer using name, phone number, or email on the Billing screen.
If the customer has visited your store before, start typing their name or phone number in the customer field. Zylu will show matching suggestions. Click on the correct customer to select them.

Adding a New Customer

If the number is not found, you will see an Add button.
Click the Add button and enter the following details:
New customer form with fields (name, number, etc.)Fill in the customer's details such as phone number, name, and lead source.
  1. Customer name
  2. Phone number 
  3. Email Address
  4. Lead source (example: walk-in, Instagram, referral)
  5. Optional fields like birthday and anniversary
Click Add Customer to continue billing.

What does “Customer Found” mean

Existing customer selected in the billing screenIf the customer already exists in Zylu, select them to avoid creating a duplicate.
If the customer does not exist in your store’s list but is present in Zylu’s master database, you will see Customer Found.
Just click Select Customer to pull their record into your store and start billing. You do not need to enter their details again.

Viewing customer information inside billing

Once selected, Zylu displays key customer information inside the billing screen. You can view

  • Wallet balance

  • Cashback balance

  • Membership details

  • Active packages

  • Customer tags or notes

There is also a View More button that opens a complete customer profile with

  • Contact details

  • Visit history

  • Service and billing notes

  • Membership or package history

Things to keep in mind

  1. Always search before adding a customer
  2. Use Select Customer if Zylu finds them in the master database
  3. Collecting birthday and anniversary info enables automated campaigns

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What if I accidentally create a duplicate customer?

A: Zylu does not allow creating duplicate customers.
If a customer already exists in Zylu's master database, you will see a "Customer Found" message and can directly select them. This helps prevent duplication.

Q: Can I skip adding a customer and bill directly?

A: No. Billing is only allowed after a customer is added or selected. Zylu requires a valid customer profile to continue.

Q: Can I edit customer details later?

A: Yes. Go to Customers, open the customer detail screen, click the Edit button, make changes, and click Update Customer to save.

Q: Will the customer's wallet, cashback, and packages carry over if I select them from the master database?

A: No. When a customer visits your store, only their data related to your store will be visible. Balances and packages from other stores will not carry over.

A: Not in the billing screen. But you can use filters inside the Customers Module section for advanced searches based on tags, or other filters.

Q: Can I add notes about the customer during billing?

A: Yes. You can add notes while creating the bill. These notes will be saved with the customer record and can be viewed later.

Q: What if the same customer visits with different phone numbers?

A: The system will treat them as two different customers. Bills will be created under the two separate numbers.
