How to Provide Roles and Permissions for Manager and Employees

Zylu gives you full control over what each staff member can access by assigning roles and permissions. Whether you're managing a large team or a small one, this feature ensures that your staff has the right access, only where needed.

Accessing Roles and Permissions

To view and assign roles and permissions:

  1. Open the Zylu Business app

  2. Go to Manage > Team Management > Roles and Permissions

Here, you will see a list of all available permissions for employees and managers.

Searching for a Permission

If you cannot find a specific permission:

• Use the Search Permissions bar at the top right
• Type a keyword like Analytics, Campaigns, or Booking
• The list will filter automatically to show matching results

Assigning Permissions to Employee or Manager

Each permission line has two checkboxes:

Employee: Tick this if you want to allow access for regular staff
Manager: Tick this if you want to allow access only for managerial staff

Once you tick a box, the change is saved automatically.

Example
If you tick Analytics - Allow viewing Staff Revenue Analytics for managers, only managers will be able to see that report. Employees will not have access unless their box is ticked.

Example Use Case

Let us say you want managers to:

• View staff performance analytics
• Void bookings made by mistake

Then go to Roles and Permissions and tick only the Manager checkboxes for those specific options.

Leave the Employee column unchecked if you do not want staff to have that access.

What is the difference between Employee and Manager roles
Managers can be given access to more sensitive data and actions like reports, booking edits, and campaign creation. Employees usually have access to day-to-day functions.

Can I create my own custom roles
Currently, you can only assign permissions to Employee and Manager roles. Custom roles are not supported at this time.

Will my staff be notified if I change their permissions
No. Changes apply immediately, but staff members are not notified.

Can I remove access once it is given
Yes. Simply uncheck the box for that permission. The access will be removed instantly.

What if I do not see the permission I need
Use the Search Permissions bar to find specific options more quickly.
